Registration deadline for mailed application is to be postmarked by October 25, 2023. Online registration deadline is November 1, 2023. Entry form must be received by deadline.
1. All items must be checked in at the Farm on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Entries received after 7:00 p.m. will not be eligible for judging.
2. All items are to be picked up on Sunday, November 12, between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. or Monday, November 13, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. Vehicles will not be allowed in on November 12th.
3. Any items not claimed by 3:00 p.m. on November 13th will be disposed of at the discretion of the Fair Committee.
4. You must have a claim ticket to claim items.
5. Divisions 12-22 are open to youth (6-18 year of age) and adults (19 and up). Exceptions: Legos, (Div. 13/Class 003 & YB003) and Division 21 (Photography) is youth only. Division 22 (Canning) is open to adults and youth B only. Adult and youth lots will be judged separately. Youth categories are divided into two age groups; Youth A (6-11) and Youth B (12-18).
6. Best of Division – Craft Only (one awarded per age category). First place winners in each class of Division 12-18 (crafts) will compete for division awards. Winners will receive a best of division ribbon and premium. Division winners will then be judged for Best of Show.
7. Best of Show – (one awarded per age category). First place or division winners from all classes in Division 12-22 will be judged for Best of Show ribbons and premiums.
a. Reminder Division 22 Canning (see division 22 section) for adult and youth B only and requires a canning entry form attached to each entry.
8. Displays for youth only categories in Division 12/Y003/YB003- Legos and building toys must not exceed 3ft. x 3ft. in width, there is no height limit. Cos-Play costumes may include accessories in their display however large, weapon-type props must be approved prior check-in.
9. All winners will receive ribbons and premiums as follow:
a. 1st - $5 2nd - $4 3rd - $3 Best of Division/Best in Show $5
b. Participant ribbon – youth categories only
10. All items must have been produced by entrant within the last 12 months.
11. All painting, photography, or drawing entries must be entered in a frame which includes a hanger. All clothing must be on a wire hanger. Please read the instructions of each division carefully for further details.
a. Items not properly submitted will not be accepted for judging.
12. Participants may enter only one item per class, but may enter as many classes as desired.
13. Please inform us on your entry form if the item is large or requires any special accommodations for proper display; i.e., dress forms or mannequins, woodworking items wider than 3ft., large decorated cake etc.

7. All items must have been produced and/or grown by the entrant within the last 12 months.
8. Participants may enter only one time per lot, but as many lots as desired.
9. The County Fair is not responsible for broken, stolen, or spoiled items.
1. Participants must be Hamilton County residents.
2. All entries must be checked in upon arrival at Poultry check-in area at the Farm and then taken to the Poultry Tent, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. A negative blood agglutination test must be conducted (TDA employee will be present during this time) or health papers presented showing negative test. 4-H Poultry Project birds will be entered at this time as well. No exceptions will be made regarding this rule.
3. All entries may be picked up on Sunday, November 12, between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. or Monday, November 13, between9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
4. Open Youth Class includes ages 9 to 18 years of age. No adult class.
5. Only those poultry breeds listed on the official entry form will be eligible for judging. The Hamilton County Fair reserves the right to reject any entry.
6. Any specimen showing symptoms of disease when received or during the exhibit will be immediately removed from the exhibition tent and returned to the owner.
7. The judge will be empowered to withdraw prizes when in his/her opinion specimens are not of sufficient merit. Judge will not award premiums to any bird because of its presence. The entry must be individually worthy.
8. No birds may be removed from the exhibit building without the consent of the Agriculture Committee Chair.
9. The Fair Association will give the bird’s proper attention but will not be responsible for loss or damage which may occur.
10. The Tennessee Department of Agriculture can issue an alert regarding poultry that can prevent the show from occurring.
